Doggerland
Doggerland was a large area of land in the North Sea, which once connected the UK to Europe,
until it was flooded by rising sea levels about 8,500 years ago.Doggerland appears (1) (__________) a fertile land,
crisscrossed by numerous large rivers, and it is believed to have been (2) (__________) by a large human population.
The area was discovered in 1931 when a fishing trawler pulled up a tool made from antler. Subsequently, scientists had other
fishing boats (3) (__________) the seafloor, which revealed bones from mammoths and lions, as well as more ancient tools and weapons.
In recent years, more and more artifacts have been discovered on the seafloor where Doggerland once existed and archaeologists expect subsequent
